When you use a MAXTRA pole saw to cut branches, a sharp chain and a powerful engine can make the job feel surprisingly easy. But have you ever wondered where MAXTRA pole saws are made and which company is behind the brand?

MAXTRA is known for its gas-powered pole saws, hedge trimmers, and other outdoor cutting tools. Its products are sold through online retailers and the Brandline website, making them accessible to homeowners who need equipment for tree trimming and yard maintenance.

Brandline is a retailer associated with MAXTRA outdoor power equipment. However, there is no reliable public confirmation that all MAXTRA pole saws are manufactured in the United States. The exact country of manufacture should be verified from the product label, packaging, or manufacturer documentation.

Let’s look at the company behind MAXTRA pole saws, their specifications, replacement parts, and how to operate and maintain these tools properly.

Where Are MAXTRA Pole Saws Made?

MAXTRA pole saws are marketed through several online retailers, including Brandline, which offers MAXTRA gas-powered chainsaws, pole saws, and combination gardening tools.

Although Brandline serves customers in the United States, this does not necessarily mean every MAXTRA product is manufactured there. A retailer’s location and a product’s manufacturing location are not always the same.

As of 2026, the publicly available product information does not clearly establish a single manufacturing country for every MAXTRA pole saw model.

If you want to confirm where your particular MAXTRA pole saw was manufactured, check the following:

You can also check the MAXTRA pole saw product listing on Brandline for specifications and available customer support information.

Who Makes MAXTRA Pole Saws?

MAXTRA is the brand name used for these outdoor power tools. Brandline sells MAXTRA products and provides customer support information for several models.

However, the publicly available information does not clearly identify the original factory responsible for manufacturing every MAXTRA pole saw. For this reason, it is more accurate to describe Brandline as a seller associated with the brand rather than assume it manufactures all the equipment itself.

MAXTRA offers different outdoor cutting tools, including gas-powered pole saws and multifunctional equipment with interchangeable attachments.

One commonly listed model is the MAXTRA ML-72TF-GCS012, which uses a 42.7cc two-stroke gasoline engine and a 10-inch cutting bar.

These features make the saw suitable for pruning tree branches and maintaining larger yards, provided it is operated within the manufacturer’s cutting limits.

MAXTRA Pole Saw – Common FAQs

What is the power source for MAXTRA pole saws?

Many popular MAXTRA pole saw models run on gasoline. The commonly sold 42.7cc version uses a two-stroke engine that requires gasoline mixed with suitable two-stroke engine oil.

Gas-powered pole saws are convenient when working away from electrical outlets because they do not require a power cord or battery charging.

However, gasoline engines produce exhaust emissions and require more maintenance than most electric models. They should only be operated outdoors in well-ventilated areas.

What are the dimensions of a MAXTRA pole saw?

The dimensions depend on the model and whether the extension pole is installed.

For example, the MAXTRA ML-72TF-GCS012 is advertised with an adjustable pole length of approximately 8.2 to 11.4 feet. Its maximum working reach is advertised as approximately 16 feet when the operator’s reach is included.

The actual weight and overall dimensions can vary depending on the attachments.

MAXTRA pole saws generally require some assembly before their first use. Follow the instructions carefully and verify that the pole connections, cutting head, and fasteners are secure.

How many CCs does a MAXTRA pole saw have?

One of the popular MAXTRA gas pole saw models has a 42.7cc two-stroke engine.

Engine displacement is measured in cubic centimeters (cc). It indicates the volume displaced by the engine’s piston during its movement.

A 42.7cc engine can provide enough power for regular pruning and cutting suitable branches. However, engine displacement alone does not determine cutting performance.

Chain sharpness, engine condition, cutting technique, and branch size also make a difference.

How many watts does a MAXTRA pole saw have?

The MAXTRA 42.7cc gas pole saw is advertised with an engine power output of approximately 1,100 watts, equivalent to about 1.5 horsepower.

This is an engine power rating, not electrical power consumption. The saw runs on gasoline rather than drawing 1,100 watts from an electrical outlet.

Its power is suitable for pruning and cutting branches within the tool’s recommended capacity.

Are MAXTRA pole saws noisy?

Yes. Like other gas-powered outdoor cutting tools, MAXTRA pole saws produce noticeable engine and cutting noise.

Gas-powered pole saws are generally louder than comparable battery-powered and corded electric models.

Always wear suitable hearing protection when operating the equipment. Eye protection, a helmet, gloves, and appropriate footwear are also important.

Can a MAXTRA pole saw cut large trees?

A MAXTRA pole saw can cut suitable branches, but it is not designed to replace a full-size chainsaw for felling large trees.

Some MAXTRA models use a 10-inch guide bar, but this does not mean every 10-inch branch is safe or practical to cut.

Large or heavy overhead branches can fall unpredictably. Professional tree removal equipment and trained operators are necessary for hazardous tree work.

How Can I Start a MAXTRA Pole Saw Engine?

Starting a MAXTRA pole saw correctly is important for reliable engine operation and operator safety.

The following steps are based on the commonly available MAXTRA gas-powered pole saw instructions. Control positions may differ between models, so always follow your particular owner’s manual.

Before starting, inspect the chain, guide bar, fuel system, and pole connections. Place the saw on stable ground with the cutting attachment clear of people and objects.

Step 01: Turn on the ignition switch

Locate the on/off switch on the control handle. Move it to the ON or RUN position.

Make sure you understand how to stop the engine before starting the tool.

Step 02: Set the starting throttle control

Some MAXTRA models have a throttle-locking mechanism that holds the engine at a suitable starting speed.

Follow the instructions for your exact model to engage the correct starting position.

Never start the machine while holding the cutting chain against wood or another object.

Step 03: Set the choke

For a cold engine, move the choke lever to the cold-start or closed position as described in the manual.

For a warm engine, a different choke setting may be necessary.

The choke helps provide the richer fuel mixture required during cold starting.

Step 04: Press the primer bulb

Press the primer bulb according to the instructions for your model.

Some MAXTRA starting guides specify approximately seven or eight presses, while other manuals give different directions.

Avoid unnecessary repeated priming because excessive fuel can make starting difficult.

Step 05: Pull the starter cord

Keep the saw firmly supported on the ground and follow the manufacturer’s recommended starting position.

Pull the starter handle smoothly until you feel resistance, then pull firmly to crank the engine.

Do not pull the cord to its full extension or allow the handle to snap back against the housing.

If the engine does not start after several attempts, check the choke setting and starting instructions rather than pulling continuously.

Step 06: Adjust the choke and warm up the engine

After the engine begins to fire, move the choke toward the half-open or RUN position according to the manual.

Allow the engine to warm up briefly before beginning work.

Release any starting throttle lock as instructed and verify that the chain does not continue moving when the engine is idling.

Once the engine is running normally, you can begin cutting with both hands firmly holding the pole saw.

How Can I Adjust the Chain on a MAXTRA Pole Saw?

Proper chain tension is necessary for safe and efficient cutting. A loose chain may come off the guide bar, while an excessively tight chain can cause unnecessary wear and damage.

Before adjusting the chain, switch off the engine, allow it to cool, and disconnect the spark plug cap to prevent accidental starting.

  1. Inspect the chain: Check for damage, excessive wear, and proper positioning in the guide bar groove.
  2. Loosen the guide bar fasteners: Slightly loosen the bar-retaining nuts or bolts as directed in your manual.
  3. Adjust the chain tension: Locate the chain adjustment screw and turn it in the direction specified by the manufacturer. On many designs, turning clockwise increases tension, but the mechanism can vary.
  4. Check the tension: The chain should fit snugly against the guide bar while still moving smoothly by hand when checked safely with suitable gloves and the engine disabled.
  5. Tighten the fasteners: Secure the guide bar fasteners while maintaining the correct bar position.
  6. Recheck the chain: Confirm the chain remains properly seated and is not excessively tight.

New chains can stretch during their first few uses, so check the tension regularly.

Never adjust the chain while the engine is running.

How Do You Adjust the High Speed of a MAXTRA Pole Saw?

To operate the MAXTRA pole saw at cutting speed, first allow the engine to warm up according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Once the engine runs smoothly, increase the throttle gradually while maintaining a secure grip on the tool.

Do not operate the saw continuously at full throttle without a load unless the manufacturer specifically instructs you to do so.

If the engine struggles to accelerate, stalls, or runs unevenly, check the fuel mixture, air filter, spark plug, and general maintenance condition.

Do not randomly adjust the carburetor’s high-speed mixture screw. Incorrect carburetor settings can cause poor performance or engine damage. Carburetor adjustment is best handled by someone familiar with small two-stroke engines and the manufacturer’s specifications.

How to Maintain a MAXTRA Pole Saw

Regular maintenance can help your MAXTRA pole saw perform reliably and reduce the risk of unexpected problems.

Here are some important maintenance practices.

If the engine does not start, avoid immediately replacing expensive components. Check the basic maintenance items first.

Safety Tips for Using a MAXTRA Pole Saw

Although MAXTRA pole saws are designed to help trim high branches from the ground, they still require careful handling.

Follow these safety precautions:

Remember that a long pole can be difficult to control, especially when cutting heavier branches. If a branch is too large or positioned dangerously, hire a professional tree service.

Bottom Line

MAXTRA pole saws are useful tools for trimming branches, maintaining trees, and handling routine yard work. Popular gas-powered models offer a 42.7cc two-stroke engine, a 10-inch guide bar, and an extendable pole for reaching higher branches.

Brandline sells several MAXTRA products, but the available information does not confirm that all MAXTRA pole saws are made in America. If the manufacturing country matters to you, check the country-of-origin label or contact the seller before purchasing.

Regardless of where a MAXTRA pole saw is manufactured, proper assembly, correct fuel mixing, regular maintenance, and safe cutting practices are essential for reliable operation.

One Response

  1. I just purchased a Maxtra pole saw combination thinking it was made in America. when I received the package it was made in China not America. I would not have bought this item knowing it was made in China. I looked up who made the Maxtra it said it was made by Brandline and all their products were made in America. That was the reason I bought this item. My way of thinking that is false advertising.
